Famous couple divides their assets evenly

For some Virginians, it can seem as if their divorce proceedings go on forever. Each area of the process, whether it is spousal support, division of property or child custody brings intense new negotiations from both sides before the issue can be settled. However, one famous Hollywood couple has found that taking extra time before finalizing their divorce allowed them to each claim their fair share of their marriage assets.

Actress Jayne Seymour, famous for her movie roles such as Live and Let Die (1973) and the beloved TV series, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, has completed the divorce proceedings from her former husband, actor and director James Keach. The couple initially split up in 2013 after being married for 22 years. Seymour and Keach are the parents of two boys.

According to sources, the couple's assets will be divided up equally. Seymour will get the couple's home in Malibu, California, and their estate in England. The actress will also receive a tax-free lump sum payment of $132,000. Keach got to keep their prized season tickets to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Seymour and Keach will also divide up their membership to the exclusive Sherwood Country Club.

The couple also decided to evenly carve up up their collection of rare gold coins. According to reports, Seymour and Keach will each receive half of the reported 100 South African Krugerrands and 100 Canadian Maple Leaf coins that they owned. The coins are valued at roughly $100 each.

A high asset divorce can sometimes raise significant issues because of the value of these assets. However, any Virginia resident who wants to identify potential issues that can develop during a divorce may want to speak with a family law attorney to identify these issues.
