Most Virginia residents are used to reading about celebrity divorces that turn very bitter. Usually, the couple fights over every possible issue, including alimony, child custody and child support. However, one recent celebrity couple has quietly finalized their divorce without any of the histrionics that can create a circus-like atmosphere.
Veteran TV host Rosie O'Donnell, who was also the former co-host of the popular daytime TV show "The View", has finalized her divorce from her second wife, Michelle Rounds. A personal representative for O'Donnell confirmed that the couple has completed their divorce proceedings and that the final papers were filed in a Manhattan Supreme Court.
According to reports, the couple was married back in 2013 but had gone their separate ways months before O'Donnell initially filed for divorce back in February of this year. When she filed for the divorce, O'Donnell filed for an uncontested divorce indicating that Rounds was not going to challenge any of the aspects of their divorce.
Rounds and O'Donnell signed a prenuptial agreement in 2012 and representatives for the couple indicate that their divorce agreement has been using the terms of the prenuptial agreement as a basis for their divorce. The couple adopted a baby girl named Dakota during their marriage. According to their agreement, both Rounds and O'Donnell will share custody of the girl.
A divorce that is not accompanied by incendiary emotional outbursts can go a long way toward helping couples heal.
