In the make believe world of Hollywood, divorce is an all-too real phenomena. Actors and actresses get together, get married and then divorce all within the blink of an eye. The divorces can sometimes turn ugly, usually because of the significant amount of assets that are at stake. Recently, however, one superstar Hollywood couple completed their divorce without the usual amount of hysterics and tirades.
Popular alternative rocker Ryan Adams and actress and singer Mandy Moore have finalized their divorce. The couple had been married since 2009. As part of the settlement, Moore was awarded a 2012 Toyota Prius and a Beverly Hills condo that the couple had shared. Moore will also receive a lump sum payment of $425,000 from her ex-spouse. Adams will get to keep his sizable comic book collection, his pinball machines and several cars including a 2008 Porsche Carrera and a 1959 Cadillac. The couple will each retain their own publishing earnings that they made during their marriage.
Adams and Moore have no children together, but they did acquire many pets during their marriage. While they were engaged in the divorce proceedings, Moore filed documents requesting that Adams pay her for the care and feeding of their six cats and two dogs. In the filing, Moore claimed that Adams earned $151,000 a month, while she only earned 25 percent of that amount. She also claimed that Adams agreed to take care of two of their cats. No information about the final arrangements for their pets was released by either side.
Moore initially started divorce proceedings in January 2015. However, any Virginia resident who has substantial assets and is also facing a divorce may want to speak with a high asset divorce attorney in order to learn specific strategies that may benefit them during this kind of divorce.
